December 2011
One Globe, Six Stories
It began with a long paragraph from Amina Mousa, in Jordan, describing her visit. Soon after that, Laurel Marks was heading over to Granada, Spain, and Wendy Carlisle to Turkey. I began collecting travel stories. In this global era, it feels important to me to stretch my understanding of how people live and what has value. We may never get to Kerala, that Western edge of South India, or sing with the Bobo birds in Costa Rica, or travel to the Amazon Cloud Forest; but we can hear the stories. The small kindnesses toward a traveler – far from home – can open the heart’s door, allowing fresh feelings of Unity – beyond distinctions and differences. Enjoy the trip!
Warmly,

Thanks everyone! What a beautiful collection and presentation of stories. They are all transporting, reminding me of the pleasant feelings of community, places, experiences, Nature, our sisters and brothers in human, plant, and animal forms… Such lovely sensitivity and grace in these stories. So nice to read replenishing tales for the soul!
Ahhhhhhh…so lovely, to open our hearts and our minds through travel, both inner and outer. I am on the “inner travel” path this year and am enjoying the outer stories so much. How beautiful! Thanks to all the writers as well as the”gatherers”. Love, Quan Yin
